The Uno Langmann Family Collection of BC Photographs

The UBC Library is proud to present a preview exhibition of the Uno Langmann Family Collection of BC Photographs. This collection, consisting of over 18,000 rare early photographs, offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of British Columbia. From albumen prints documenting the province's first explorations to large hand-coloured panoramic landscapes, this exhibition showcases the diverse and captivating visual history of BC.

Experience BC's History

The UBC Alumni Centre is hosting the UBC Snapshot & Sneak Peek Bundle, allowing visitors to get an early look at the collection. Images from the Uno Langmann Family Collection will be displayed on each floor of the Alumni Centre, providing a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the history of UBC and British Columbia.

Event Details

The UBC Snapshot & Sneak Peek Bundle will be on display from September 29 until December 2015 at the Robert H. Lee Alumni Centre. The centre is located at 6163 University Boulevard, Vancouver, BC Canada V6T 1Z1.

For the month of September, the exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Please note that hours may change in October.

Explore the Digital Collections

If you can't make it to the exhibition in person, don't worry! The UBC Library has digitized sixty-two albums from the Uno Langmann Family Collection, which are available for viewing on the library's digital collections portal. This allows you to explore the collection from the comfort of your own home and discover even more hidden gems from BC's history.
